FCT: Police Officer Found Dead In Apartment A Month After Father’s Passing

An Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Musa Yakubu, attached to the Yaba Divisional Police Headquarters in Abaji Area Council, Federal Capital Territory, has been found dead in his apartment.

A police source, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the incident to the Daily Trust, stating that the officer passed away on Wednesday morning after finishing work the previous day.

The source described the officer as being in good health up until that point, noting, “We were together until late on Tuesday night, but when we didn’t see him on Wednesday morning, we went to his house and discovered his lifeless body in his bedroom.”

Yakubu, a native of Gwargwada in Kuje Area Council, was recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) by the Police Service Commission.

It was also revealed that the officer had lost his father last month and had traveled to Gwargwada to attend the burial before returning to his duties at the Yaba division.

The Agabe of Gwargwada, HRH Alhaji Hussain Agabi Man, confirmed the officer’s death. The FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Adeh Josephine, also confirmed the passing of Yakubu, stating that he died in his apartment following a prolonged illness last Tuesday.
