Elon Musk’s friendship with music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has resurfaced after the billionaire raised questions about who in the music and entertainment industry knew of Combs’ alleged history of sexual abuse.
In response to a report detailing over a hundred sexual abuse allegations against Combs, including claims that he abused a nine-year-old boy, Musk publicly asked, “How many people in music & entertainment knew about this?”
Social media users quickly pointed to Musk’s own connection with Combs, recalling how he allegedly “boasted” about their friendship.
In their book Character Limit, authors Kate Conger and Ryan Mac revealed that Musk had spoken about his close relationship with Combs to Revolt CEO Detavio Samuels, after Samuels expressed concerns about racism on X under Musk’s leadership.
“I don’t know if you know this, but Puff is an investor in Twitter,” Musk reportedly told Samuels, using Combs’ nickname. “He’s a good friend of mine. We text a lot.”
In August, it was confirmed that Combs had invested over $10 million in Musk’s acquisition of X, and the two were photographed together at an event in May 2022.
Last month, Combs was arrested following indictments on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
