The ceremony, set for November 6, will see Heidi Klum and Winnie Harlow among the presenters for the five Earthshot categories, with Billy Porter and South African TV host Bonang Matheba as the event’s hosts.
Ahead of the event, Heidi expressed her excitement, saying, “As someone who uses my platform to advocate for a better future for our children, I am deeply inspired by The Earthshot Prize’s mission to support solutions for a healthier planet. I’m thrilled to be part of this special evening.”
The ceremony will also feature performances from top artists, including Afrobeats star Davido, Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz, DJ Uncle Waffles, and Grammy winner Lebo M, renowned for his vocals on The Lion King soundtrack and performing with the Ndlovu Youth Choir.
Leading up to the awards night, Earthshot Week will celebrate the 15 finalists from around the world, with actor and humanitarian Nomzamo Mbatha hosting events alongside Earthshot Global Ambassador Robert Irwin, son of the late Steve Irwin.
Robert, passionate about conservation, shared, “The Earthshot Prize is one of my favorite moments to honor innovations in environmental solutions. I’m thrilled to help bring this year’s Earthshot Week to life in Cape Town.”
Prince William founded the Earthshot Prize in 2020, offering £1 million to each of five winners annually to advance groundbreaking environmental solutions. While Princess Kate attended the inaugural London awards in 2021 and joined William in Boston in 2022, she is not expected to accompany him to South Africa this year.
