Daily Ritual That King Charles And Queen Camilla Never Miss

King Charles And Queen Camilla Are Known For Maintaining Certain Traditions, And Their Daily Routines Continue To Intrigue Royal Fans

Recently, Tom Parker Bowles, Queen Camilla’s son from her previous marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, provided a rare insight into royal life.

In a conversation with People, the 49-year-old food writer revealed that one ritual is particularly sacred: afternoon tea at 5:00 p.m.

Describing it as “of primary importance,” Tom explained that it’s much more than a simple cup of tea. The ritual includes a spread of sandwiches, two types of cake, scones, biscuits, shrimp, and eggs.

Tom, who has just released his new book Cooking and the Crown, which shares royal recipes spanning from Queen Victoria to King Charles, has offered several insights into royal life during his recent TV appearances promoting the book.

He also spoke about his children’s relationship with “Uppa,” the affectionate nickname they use for King Charles, noting that “He is such a good, kind man” and that the children “utterly adore him.”

When it comes to King Charles’ diet, the monarch’s disciplined approach is clear. Known for his healthy lifestyle, Charles often enjoys cheesy eggs for breakfast, along with nuts and seeds. However, he famously skips lunch, believing it to be an interruption to his busy schedule.

Dinner for the King is enjoyed with an eco-conscious twist. He shared with the BBC in 2021 that he avoids meat and fish two days a week and abstains from dairy products once a week.

Charles is known to favor Italian food, dislikes coffee, chocolate, and garlic, but appreciates a side salad with every meal, ideally with a coddled egg—boiled for just a couple of minutes.
