A police officer who allegedly ignored a 999 call on his radio because he was having s*x while on duty has resigned from the force, it can be revealed.
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?
PC Steven Austin allegedly went round to his ex-girlfriend’s home in the middle of the day despite being on duty. While the pair were having s*x the constable got Grade 1 emergency call on his police radio.
A violent altercation had broken out after an attempted robbery at a shop and the manager had been repeatedly punched in the head, a disciplinary hearing was told.
The manager was chasing his assailant and the incident required an immediate police response as there could have been a danger to life.
HE IGNORED FOUR TIMES
Four times police colleagues tried to contact him on his radio to get him to race round to the store but he allegedly ignored them.
Instead, after spending around 90 minutes at the house, the police officer then leisurely left the house and returned to work.

The woman, who cannot be named, later texted an ex-girlfriend of PC Austin, who was also a police officer, saying: ‘He missed a call on his radio while we were in the middle.’
Replying she said: ‘During work? That’s a job loser. Tell work.’
PC Austin was hauled before a police disciplinary panel in March to answer claims he had s*x while on duty.
The bearded officer, who served with Sussex Police in Eastbourne, vehemently denied the allegations.
The case was adjourned. But now the officer has abruptly resigned from the force.
