Chicago rapper Lil Reese has been arrested and taken into custody following allegations of assault nearly two weeks after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Born Tavares Taylor, Lil Reese was charged with aggravated assault of a family or household member and denied bond.
According to TMZ, the rapper was arrested on Sunday evening at The Address nightclub in Houston, Texas, where police, already present at the venue, moved in to apprehend him.
Photos from the scene show Lil Reese being led to a police vehicle in handcuffs.
The arrest stems from an alleged altercation at The Pink House nightclub in Houston, where Lil Reese reportedly assaulted a former girlfriend after she rejected his advances.
The woman claimed that Reese punched her in the face and attempted to strangle her, causing her to struggle for air and fear for her life. A witness, said to be a friend of the woman, notified security.
Lil Reese’s attorney, Carl Moore, strongly denied the accusations, stating, “Mr. Taylor vehemently denies these false accusations. We look forward to his day in court.”
The rapper, known for his influence in Chicago’s drill music scene, now faces legal proceedings.
