Cardi B has addressed rumors of plastic surgery just one month after giving birth to her third child with estranged husband, Offset.
On Saturday, October 5, the rapper, dressed in black leggings and a nude tank top, shared a video on social media, discussing her weight loss journey, noting that while she’s losing weight all over her body, her face hasn’t slimmed down as quickly.
Following the video, some social media users began body-shaming Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, with some even comparing her hip shape to that of a “tooth.”
When one fan tweeted that Cardi had “ruined” her body, she quickly responded.
“Y’all really need to relax. This is what my body REALLY looks like,” she tweeted, sharing recent photos of herself in a black dress. She added, “My body looks exaggerated in the other video because I have a 5X faja [girdle] on… Y’all were just praising my body a few days ago. Do you really think I had surgery in just two days?”
Another user commented on her stomach, saying it “always looks like it’s about to rip apart” and criticized Cardi for being too focused on her appearance right after giving birth.
The Grammy winner fired back, calling the user a “potato.” She wrote, “B!tch, you literally look like a f**kin’ potato and yet you’re talking about my looks with so much passion. This is why I drag y’all by your draws because why do you have so much nerve?”
Cardi also retweeted a post from another user who clarified that women typically cannot undergo plastic surgery until at least six months after giving birth.
