Back in 2002, it was reported that Benét, now 57, sought rehab treatment for sex addiction.
However, during Monday’s episode of Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, Berry expressed skepticism about Benét’s self-diagnosed condition, stating, “I had one husband who said he was a sex addict… But I don’t fing believe that s.”
Berry and Benét married in 2001 after two years of dating, but their relationship became strained after Berry discovered his infidelity. Following the cheating revelations, Benét entered rehab, and in 2003, the couple announced their separation.
Berry released a statement at the time, saying, “Eric and I have had marital problems for some time now and have tried to work things out together. However, at this point, I feel we need time apart to reevaluate our union.”
Their divorce was finalized in 2005. Benét later married Manuela Testolini in 2011, and the couple shares two daughters, Lucia Bella, 12, and Amoura Luna, 10.
After her split from Benét, Berry began a relationship with Gabriel Aubry from 2005 to 2010, welcoming daughter Nahla Ariela in 2008. She later married Olivier Martinez in 2013, and they had a son, Maceo-Robert, before divorcing in 2016.
Berry is currently in a relationship with musician Van Hunt, whom she began dating in 2020. Reflecting on their relationship, Berry shared on the podcast that it has been her longest to date.
“We celebrated when we hit four years like we had been married 20 years. … He is my person, and I just know it. He’s calm, and he’s what I’ve been dreaming of, searching for, needing.”
