A woman allegedly conspired with her husband to kill the man she was having an affair with over the past weekend.
Houston Police responded to a scene of an attempted murder at a Chick-fil-A on Westheimer around 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 19.
Hanna Alolaimi and her husband, Omar Bishtawi, appeared before a judge on Monday, October 21, where they were both charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.
According to court documents, Alolaimi was involved in an affair with a man who is also married.
“It is alleged that both of you were married to other people, and when the complainant discovered the relationship, he ended it,” a magistrate stated.
Instead of moving on, Alolaimi reportedly devised a plan to kill and kidnap her lover.
Court records indicate she enlisted her husband to hide in the backseat of her car while she set up a meeting with the victim.
At the time, the victim was working as a DoorDash delivery driver and had just picked up an order from Chick-fil-A.
“It is alleged that you (Alolaimi) signaled to the victim, who then entered your vehicle,” the magistrate said.
Records show that Alolaimi and the victim frequently met behind a nearby Target, across from the apartment complex where both lived.
On the night of the incident, Alolaimi reportedly chose the Chick-fil-A location intentionally, hoping to lure the victim to their usual meeting spot.
“(Alolaimi) attempted to drive off with the victim, even though he told you he had a delivery to complete,” the magistrate noted.
Court details reveal that the victim was unaware of Alolaimi’s husband’s presence in the car.
“Your husband emerged from under a curtain in the backseat, put the victim in a chokehold, and pressed a firearm to his head,” the magistrate stated.
According to investigators, when the victim attempted to escape, Bishtawi shot him twice—once in the leg and once in the foot.
“The injuries could have been fatal due to the risk of the victim bleeding out,” the magistrate said.
The couple fled the scene but later called the police to surrender.
According to court documents, they provided conflicting accounts to officers and have since been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping.
