A 10-year-old Grade 7 student from Goromonzi, Zimbabwe, is reported to have undergone a disturbing transformation after allegedly being initiated into satanism by her schoolmates. This has left her unable to attend school and deeply distressed.
The girl’s mother, speaking to B-Metro, expressed her anguish, describing her daughter’s frightening behavior since the supposed initiation. The child, who lives on a farm in Chief Chinhamora’s area, has been exhibiting alarming symptoms such as hissing, writhing, and flicking her tongue like a snake, and even crying like a hyena when she is in a possessed state.
According to the mother, “This girl is possessed by a snake spirit. She hisses like a snake, writhes around, and sticks out her tongue. She also cries like a hyena when possessed.”
The girl recounts that the ordeal began at school when an unknown woman approached her, placed her hands on the girl’s head as if in prayer, and was later joined by several schoolmates. Following this, the girl began experiencing horrifying visions of snakes being thrown at her and placed inside her stomach.
“I started seeing strange things, including snakes being thrown at me, being placed in my stomach, and being taken out at night to practice witchcraft with others,” she said.
She claims to have been taken to nighttime rituals where she and other children are served “sadza, rice, and meat” along with a “red beverage.” The girl also describes being transported by a giant snake capable of carrying 20 people and traveling to distant locations such as Mozambique.
Worryingly, the girl mentions that her mother does not notice her absence at night because her shadow remains at home while she is away at these secret rituals.
The situation has had a profound impact on the entire family. Once a top student, the girl has fallen behind in school and has even accused members of the community of being witches, causing tension and fear. The girl’s mother has expressed her heartbreak, revealing that the stress has even led to her husband losing his job.
“This has torn our family apart. My daughter was once the best in school, but now she accuses people in the community of witchcraft and her academic performance has deteriorated. We’ve sought help from various sources, but nothing has worked,” the mother lamented.
The family continues to seek answers and relief amidst the emotional and social upheaval caused by the alleged possession.
