United States: Several Dead As Gunfire Breaks Out At Georgia High School

A shooting at Apalachee High School in Barrow County, Georgia, has resulted in at least two deaths and four injuries. Gunfire erupted at the school on Wednesday, September 4, and a suspect is now in police custody.

According to preliminary reports from law enforcement, deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene around 10:23 a.m. after receiving reports of an active shooter.

In response, all Barrow County Schools went into a “soft lockdown,” with most of the emergency activity centered around Apalachee High School.

Police vehicles, fire trucks, and ambulances were on-site, and students were directed to the school’s football stadium for safety.

Governor Brian Kemp has mobilized state resources to address the incident and is urging Georgians to pray for the safety of students and staff.

Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta has confirmed that it is treating one gunshot victim.
