Kubra Aykut, a popular TikTok influencer, tragically passed away at age 26 after falling from the fifth floor of a luxury apartment building in Turkey.
Aykut, who gained global recognition for her viral “Wedding without a Groom” videos, was found dead in Istanbul’s Sultanbeyli district last Monday, according to Turkish media.
A suicide note was reportedly found at the scene. Her death follows a series of concerning posts where she spoke about her struggles with weight loss.
In one post, she wrote, “I’ve regained my energy, but I can’t seem to gain weight. I lose a kilogram every day. I don’t know what to do; I urgently need to gain weight.”
She reportedly fell from her apartment on Gişe Street, located in the exclusive Hasanpaşa neighborhood.
Authorities have launched an investigation, and her body was taken for a post-mortem examination at a private hospital before being transferred to her hometown of Bursa for burial. Friends and family, including Turkish influencer Dilan Polat and Enes Çetinkaya, her long-term partner and lawyer, attended her funeral.
In her final TikTok video, Aykut was seen cleaning her apartment just before her death.
She rose to fame in 2023 after hosting an elaborate wedding ceremony where she “married” herself, dressed in a white gown and tiara, and declared, “I cannot find a worthy groom for myself,” driving off with a bouquet in hand and joyfully celebrating.
