Top Kremlin mouthpiece threatens to ‘SINK’ Britain with Russian hypersonic missiles

Russia’s former president and close ally of Vladimir Putin has threatened to ‘sink’ Britain under a tidal wave from its hypersonic missiles while accusing Foreign Secretary David Lammy of lying about long-term support for Ukraine

WHAT WAS SAID

Dmitry Medvedev, now deputy head of the Russian security council, posted on his personal social media account: ‘Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Lammy has promised Ukraine 100 years of support.

‘1) He is lying. 2) So-called Ukraine will not last a quarter of that time.

‘3) The island called Britain is likely to sink in the next few years. Our hypersonic missiles will help if necessary.’

THE THREAT

Medvedev’s threat against Britain follows a series of declarations from Putin’s propagandists demanding nuclear strikes to drown the UK under tsunamis triggered by his hypersonic missiles or high-speed Poseidon underwater drone.

This came as Russia performed yet more war games with artillery firing in the Barents Sea in a show of force to the West, part of the largest naval exercise since the Cold War.

Putin, meanwhile, has threatened a real Third World War if Britain and other countries permit Ukraine to unleash NATO-supplied long-range missiles at military targets deep inside Russia.

Putin’s deputy defence minister claimed in China that NATO is preparing troops to fight in Ukraine, despite there being no evidence of the alliance putting boots on the ground.
