In the clip, released to mark the end of her chemotherapy treatment, Kate gave fans a glimpse of her close bond with her children, especially six-year-old Louis.
At the beginning of the video, the 42-year-old Princess is seen walking through a woodland area with Prince William, also 42, and their three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis. In a sweet moment, Kate affectionately called out to her youngest, saying, “Lou-bugs, you lead the way.”
This isn’t the first-time fans have heard this endearing pet name. During a visit to the 3rd Upton Scout Group in Slough in May 2023, Kate was helping Louis toast marshmallows and sweetly said, “Pop that in the fire, Lou Bug,” as she handed him a stick.
Kate also uses affectionate nicknames for her older children, referring to Princess Charlotte as “poppet” and “Lottie,” while Prince George has been called “little grape.”
In the deeply personal video, Kate shared her journey through the last nine months of cancer treatment, describing the experience as “incredibly tough for us as a family.” She expressed how the journey had given her “a new perspective on everything.”
As she recovers, the Princess plans to return to a limited schedule of public duties later in the year.
She concluded the video with a message of encouragement for others going through similar health struggles, saying, “To all those continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
