In an Instagram statement, the Foo Fighters frontman shared, “I recently welcomed a new baby daughter born outside of my marriage. I am committed to being a loving and supportive parent to her.”
He added, “I love my wife and my children deeply, and I am doing everything I can to rebuild their trust and seek their forgiveness. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate this situation together.”
Grohl chose not to reveal further details about the baby or the child’s mother.
Grohl is married to Jordyn Blum, whom he wed in 2003, and they have three daughters born in 2006, 2009, and 2014.
He was previously married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood from 1994 to 1997, and he has acknowledged that his infidelity contributed to the end of that marriage.
This summer, Grohl and the Foo Fighters have been on tour promoting their latest album, But Here We Are, released last year.
They have one more tour date scheduled for September 29 at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
