Sean Diddy’s Children Are Shocked by His Charges After Brief Jail Conversation

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ children are reportedly in shock over his arrest and indictment following a brief conversation with him from jail.

The music mogul, 54, was taken into custody on September 16 and faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and has been denied bail twice.

According to a source familiar with the situation, Combs has been able to speak briefly with family members and his children by phone. “He is very concerned about his kids and their well-being,” the insider told PEOPLE. “He has three minor children, two of whom now have no living parent while he is incarcerated. Four of his seven children currently have neither parent available.”

Combs shares sons Christian, Jessie, and D’Lila with the late model and actress Kim Porter, who passed away in 2018. Quincy, his eldest son, is Porter’s child with Al B. Sure! and was later adopted by Combs. Justin is his son with stylist Misa Hylton, while Chance is the daughter of Sarah Chapman. The youngest, Love, was born to Dana Tran in October 2022.

A second insider revealed that the Combs children are “in a state of crisis and shock” following their father’s arrest. “It’s heartbreaking to see them like this,” the source noted. “This is their father. To them, he’s not Diddy — he’s Dad. He has always been a loving, devoted father.”

Combs, one of the most influential figures in the music industry, is accused of coercing women into extended, orchestrated sexual performances, referred to as “freak offs,” some lasting several days. Prosecutors allege that he used drugs like cocaine, ketamine, and oxycodone, as well as his influence, to intimidate women into participating in these events, which were reportedly filmed without the victims’ consent.

During raids of his homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March, authorities recovered over 1,000 bottles of baby oil among supplies related to these alleged activities.

Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, had proposed a $50 million bail package that was rejected by a judge, along with a $50,000 bond for his release. During the arraignment, Agnifilo stated that Combs is receiving “treatment and therapy for things that he needs treatment and therapy for,” though he did not specify the details due to confidentiality.

“He’s going to fight this with all his energy and confidence in his legal team, and I anticipate a lengthy battle with a favorable outcome for Mr. Combs,” Agnifilo stated outside the court on September 17.

A hearing for Combs is scheduled for October 9 at 2 p.m.
