This same image had been used earlier in a birthday tribute by King Charles, who also wrote, “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!” followed by a cake emoji.
This marks the first time the royal family has publicly wished Harry a happy birthday since 2021. Harry, who now resides in California with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, has experienced a strained relationship with his father since stepping down as a senior royal in 2020.
However, following King Charles’s cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Harry reunited with his father at Clarence House and was also present for his coronation in May.
