As a patron of the charity, which supports seriously ill children and their families, the Duke of Sussex will be present at the ceremony on September 30.
WellChild confirmed his attendance, noting that Harry will meet with the inspiring award winners before joining them for the main event.
The Duke is a regular at the WellChild Awards, having attended 12 of their events. He was in the UK for the charity’s awards in 2022 when news broke of his grandmother’s passing.
Reflecting on this during a 2023 speech, Harry said: “As you know, I was unable to attend the awards last year as my grandmother passed away. She would have been the first to insist I still come to be with you all… and that’s precisely why I know, one year on, she is looking down on all of us tonight – happy we are together.”
Harry’s return follows a recent olive branch from his family. For his 40th birthday, King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales shared warm messages.
Prince William and Princess Kate posted on Instagram: “Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to the Duke of Sussex,” along with a smiling photo of Harry in a grey suit.
King Charles shared the same photo, adding a message: “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!” with a cake emoji.
