The Trump family was targeted by hackers who tried to promote a yet-to-be-launched crypto project on their social media accounts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
On Tuesday evening, the X accounts of Donald Trump‘s daughter, Tiffany Trump, and daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, were hacked.
Hackers used the account belonging to Lara Trump, the Co-Chair of the Republican National Committee, to post faulty links to the Trump-connected cryptocurrency World Liberty Financial, which has yet to be launched.
Tiffany Trump’s X account, which was also infiltrated, made similar posts with fake links to the project.
‘Following [Lara Trump’s] announcement, I am happy to announce that I am officially endorsing the World Liberty Financial project,’ read a hacked post on Tiffany’s X account.
‘I believe my father and brother are carrying out the long-needed, important works needed to decentralize the financial world.’
