Award-winning investigative journalist David Hundeyin has alleged that the Nigerian police have declared him wanted in connection with the prosecution of Isaac Bristol, who is accused of being the anonymous online whistleblower known as PIDOM Nigeria.

On Tuesday, Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi released a statement listing Hundeyin and Michael Temidayo Alade as alleged accomplices of PIDOM. This follows Bristol’s arraignment at the Federal High Court in Abuja on September 3, where he was remanded in Kuje prison for a minimum of seven days.

PIDOMNigeria, arrested in late August, faces charges including leaking classified documents, fraud, sedition, and tax evasion.

The police have now named Hundeyin as a suspect in the same case, with Alade listed as a police witness against Bristol.

Hundeyin, known for his investigative work exposing corruption and human rights abuses in Nigeria, took to X to assert that the only crime he committed was “Journalism.”
