Inmate Re-Arrested For Rape And Sexual Assault Just After Release

A prisoner was re-arrested on suspicion of rape moments after being released under UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s early release program.

This incident occurred during a mass release of inmates from Wandsworth Prison in southwest London. The man, who was 28 years old, was reportedly leaving the jail when he realized police were waiting for him.

He was then handcuffed and transported to a nearby police station.

Following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police, it has been revealed that the man faces accusations of rape, sexual assault, and a racially aggravated public order offense. Questions have been raised about why he was eligible for early release.

The Metropolitan Police stated to MailOnline: “A 28-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of rape, sexual assault, and a racially/religiously aggravated public order offense. He was taken to a south London police station and is on bail pending further inquiries regarding the rape allegation. No further action will be taken concerning the other allegations.”

The timing of the alleged rape remains unclear.

This incident occurred amid scenes of celebration outside Britain’s prisons, where 1,700 inmates were released after serving only a portion of their sentences.
