O’Reilly Senior High School in Okpoi-Gonno, Accra, Ghana, is under intense scrutiny following the tragic death of final-year student Edward Borketey Sackey, who was fatally stabbed on Tuesday, September 4, during an argument with friends.

This incident, the second student murder at the school, has raised serious concerns about student safety and the effectiveness of school management.

According to eyewitnesses, the argument began as a debate over whose father was wealthier but quickly escalated into a physical altercation.

During the fight, one of the students allegedly pulled out a sharp object and stabbed Edward multiple times.

Social media users and community members are accusing the school of failing to protect its students, citing a lack of security and proper order as contributing factors to the tragedy.

The school’s authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
