According to TMZ, Aguila, a well-known fitness influencer and founder of a nationwide gym chain, was attacked by a group of men who followed him to his home. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that the assailants demanded property from Aguila and then shot him, targeting his Rolex watch.
Paramedics quickly transported Aguila to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Aguila is the founder of Self Made Training Facility, a gym franchise with over 25 locations across the country, headquartered in Temecula.
The Self-Made Training Facility team confirmed the incident on Instagram, stating: “Dear Self-Made Family.
“We are deeply saddened to report that Miguel was involved in a serious incident last night. He sustained a gunshot injury and is currently in the intensive care unit, fighting bravely. Miguel is a cherished individual whose strength, leadership, achievements, and resilience have inspired many. He is surrounded by the love and support of his family, friends, and all of you, and we are confident in his ability to recover.
