Elon Musk is projected to become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027, according to a new global wealth report.
Currently the richest person on the planet with a net worth of $251 billion, as listed by Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, Musk has seen his wealth grow at an extraordinary average rate of 110 percent annually, according to the Informa Connect Academy report.
If this rapid growth continues, Musk could achieve trillionaire status within the next three years. The report, titled The 2024 Trillion Dollar Club, values Tesla, Musk’s flagship company, at $669.3 billion, with a remarkable growth rate of 173.3 percent. Tesla alone could surpass $1 trillion as early as next year.
The report also forecasts that Gautam Adani, the Indian business tycoon, could become the second trillionaire by 2028 if his annual growth rate remains at 123 percent. Additionally, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Indonesian magnate Prajogo Pangetsu are expected to join the trillionaire ranks by 2028.
Bernard Arnault, head of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton and the world’s third-richest individual with around $200 billion, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg are both anticipated to reach trillionaire status by 2030.
According to the report, Microsoft and Apple are the top two richest companies, valued at $3.4 trillion and $2.5 trillion respectively, having achieved trillion-dollar valuations in 2019 and 2018.
