Donald Trump has fired back at television host Bill Maher, calling him a “befuddled mess” after Maher speculated that Trump might be romantically involved with far-right activist Laura Loomer.
On Saturday, September 21, Trump took to Truth Social to voice his displeasure with Maher and the panelists on the latest episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, which aired the previous night. In his post, Trump criticized Maher as a “sloppy and tired host” obsessed with him, while also disparaging the show’s “B and C list guests” for frequently attacking him.
Trump also took aim at MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle, accusing her of being a Democratic Party puppet, and suggested New York Times contributor Bret Stephens should find a new job, accusing him of working for the “FAILING” newspaper.
During the episode, Maher made controversial remarks, suggesting Trump could be involved with Loomer, saying provocatively, “Who’s Trump f**ing? Because I said, ‘it’s not nobody.’ He’s been a dog for too long. And it’s not Melania. I think we may have our answer this week.”
Loomer swiftly responded after the episode aired, threatening to sue Maher for defamation, calling his remarks a “complete and blatant lie” and condemning the disrespect shown toward both Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
