Actress Trina McGee has revealed she suffered a miscarriage, just three months after announcing her pregnancy.
The 55-year-old actress shared the heartbreaking news during an episode of The Tamron Hall Show that aired on September 23.
“I lost the baby,” McGee, who was expecting her first child with husband Marcello Thedford, explained. “It happened near the end of the first trimester, and there’s no clear reason why.”
Despite the loss, McGee expressed gratitude for the experience, saying, “I’m still thankful to have been able to conceive at this stage in my life.” She also reflected on the emotional toll the miscarriage took on her, admitting it was difficult to get out of bed.
“As a mother of three adult children, I had hopes and dreams of completing my family. It was hard to accept that it wasn’t going to happen this time.”
Since her pregnancy announcement in June, McGee said she has received overwhelming support from other women who have reached out to her. When asked by Hall if she and her husband were considering trying again, McGee expressed uncertainty.
“Part of me never wants to go through this again, but another part says maybe,” she shared. “Our focus now is on loving each other. If something happens, great, but I don’t want to put pressure on myself to have another baby. Sometimes, it’s best to let go and let God.”
The couple also plans to foster a young girl from Belize, as McGee expressed her desire to grow their family. “We want a tribe, whether it happens naturally or not.”
In June, McGee playfully announced her pregnancy with a photo of her baby bump at Malacate Beach, Belize, and shared the news on Instagram, asking for prayers for a safe delivery.
McGee is already a mother to three adult children: Raima, 33, and Langston, 30, from her previous marriage to Randall Courtland Davis, and Ezra, 26, from a prior relationship.
