Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were seen together for the first time since announcing their divorce, engaging in what seemed to be a tense conversation at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday, September 14.
Affleck, 53, was observed leaning in closely to speak with Lopez, 55, and gesturing with his hands. Later, as they sat in their car, Lopez appeared to be wiping away tears.
The meeting took place in the presence of Affleck’s children from his marriage to Jennifer Garner—Finn, 15, and Samuel, 12—as well as Lopez’s 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max, from her marriage to Marc Anthony. Affleck also shares an 18-year-old daughter, Violet, with Garner.
The encounter follows recent public appearances where Affleck was seen kissing his best friend Matt Damon’s wife, Luciana, while Damon was spotted holding Lopez’s hand.
In the photos from the meeting, Lopez was seen wearing her engagement ring from Affleck on her pinky finger, along with a gold band engraved with ‘Jennifer’ on her wedding finger.
Jennifer and Ben legally separated on April 26, and Lopez filed for divorce in LA County Superior Court on August 20, citing ‘irreconcilable differences.’
Following the filing, there were rumors linking Affleck to Kick Kennedy, daughter of RFK Jr., after they were seen together on several occasions in Los Angeles.
Affleck and Lopez originally met on the set of the film Gigli in 2001 but called off their wedding in 2004, just days before the ceremony. Both moved on to other marriages, with Lopez marrying Marc Anthony and Affleck marrying Jennifer Garner.
