Adele, 36, has revealed that she is planning a significant break from music following the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency.
In a TikTok video from one of her Munich performances, Adele shared, “I have 10 more shows to do, but after that, you won’t see me for an incredibly long time. I’ll hold you dear in my heart.”
Fans expressed mixed reactions in the comments, with some pleading for her to stay, while others wished her well on her break. “Please don’t leave us,” one fan commented, while another simply said, “Noooo.” A third remarked, “Good for her! Enjoy your break, Adele.”
Speculation is swirling that Adele might be taking this time off to focus on her personal life, including possibly marrying her fiancé, Rich Paul. The 43-year-old sports agent was confirmed as Adele’s fiancé at one of her Munich shows last month. Adele, who has an 11-year-old son named Angelo with her ex-husband Simon Konecki, may also be considering expanding her family.
In July, Adele had hinted at her break from music, stating, “I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while,” in an interview with German outlet ZDF.
Adele’s Las Vegas residency, which began at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in November 2022, will conclude with her final show on November 23. She recently finished 10 special performances at Munich’s Open Air Arena.
Reflecting on her residency, Adele shared on X, “This residency and these shows have changed my life. I desperately needed to fall back in love with performing live again, and I have.” She continued, “Being onstage over the last year has been a truly extraordinary restorative experience that I’ll never forget.”
Adele’s most recent album, “30,” was released in 2021, and she typically puts out a new album every few years. In December 2023, Adele mentioned to the Hollywood Reporter that creating new music was not on her immediate agenda, citing concerns about vocal strain from her extensive residency performances.
