‘1000-Lb. Sisters’ Star Amy Slaton Transported From Zoo On Stretcher After Camel Incident

Amy Slaton, star of the reality TV show “1000-Lb. Sisters,” had a rough day at the Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo on Monday, September 3.

Slaton was reportedly bitten by a camel, which led to her being carried out on a stretcher. Additionally, she was later arrested on drug possession charges.

TMZ obtained photos showing Amy being wheeled out of the park on a gurney, appearing distressed with a makeshift bandage on her arm. Witnesses saw her walking through the parking lot with a shirt wrapped around her arm before emergency responders helped her onto the stretcher.

The situation escalated when law enforcement officers, investigating the incident, discovered psychedelic mushrooms and marijuana in plain view inside her car. Slaton was subsequently charged with illegal possession of Schedule I and Schedule VI drugs, as well as two counts of child endangerment, due to her two children being present in the vehicle.

Tennessee Safari Park, known for its drive-through safari and walk-through zoo where visitors can feed animals like camels and giraffes, disputes Slaton’s account of being bitten.

Jon Conley, a park owner, told TMZ there was no evidence to support her claim. He noted that the injury—a cut above her elbow—did not match a camel bite, which typically involves bruising and tissue damage.

The park also could not locate surveillance footage to corroborate the incident, and Slaton could not specify where the bite supposedly occurred.

After receiving medical treatment, Slaton was taken to jail, where she was booked and had her mug shot taken. This incident follows another recent case involving injuries at a drive-through safari, highlighting ongoing safety concerns.
