A triple stabbing on a quiet street in Manchester has left one person dead and two others including a teenage girl fighting for their lives.
Police and paramedics swarmed the residential road in Gorton just after 11pm last night following reports of a knife attack.
A 43-year-old woman was killed in the rampage, while a 17-year-old girl and a 64-year-old man have been rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries.
A 22-year-old man believed to be known to the victims has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Monday morning, a major police scene remains in place on the road. Three forensic tents are in place, outside a house, in the road and another in the front garden.
Horrified neighbours told of hearing ‘shouting and screaming’ last night.
One man, who gave his name as Reece, said he and his cousin had just returned from a takeaway and were sitting in his car when he heard people ‘shouting’.
He said: ‘I heard the neighbours saying “get in, get in”. My cousin ran in the house.
“There was a guy with a knife chasing a girl. I said, “leave her alone, it’s not worth it”. She fell and he stabbed her.
‘I turned my car towards him but the girl was in the way. He started chasing my car with the knife.’

Another woman said she heard people ‘screaming’ and saw a man ‘running in and out of a house’.
“They were saying, ‘he’s got a knife”. It was terrifying. People were staying inside, no one wanted to go out.’
Keelan Sands, who was watching a film at home when he heard ‘screaming’ outside, said: ‘I thought it was a fight going on. A neighbour said, ‘Get back, somebody’s been stabbed.
‘It was scary, I was shaking. I’ve lived here for 11 years and nothing like this has ever happened.’
