The husband who previously posted a video accusing his wife of tearing his passport at the airport has now reversed his stance and criticized bloggers for amplifying the story.
The video, which went viral over the weekend, captured an incident at Lagos International Airport where a woman was seen tearing her husband’s passport. In the footage, the wife admitted to the act.
Subsequently, the wife shared another video explaining that she tore the passport for specific reasons and deliberately did so at the airport to prevent him from traveling.
In response, the husband released his own video, portraying his wife as the problem and showing an extended version of the airport altercation. He claimed he had anticipated her creating a scene and had given his friend his phone to document it.
However, after his wife was detained by Immigration officers and taken to Abuja for questioning, the husband changed his narrative. He now asserts that the video was merely a “skit” and is blaming bloggers for spreading the story.
He said: “I’m here with my kids to send an appeal to the public of Nigeria, to the whole world also, that what my wife tore, is not passport. Please be a blogger, when you’re blogging, blog and blog well. Don’t go and blog to spoil things, please.
“She never tore my passport, she never spoilt my passport. My passport is intact.” He added: “We’re doing a skit.”
