Boxing icon Oscar De La Hoya has stirred up social media controversy after posting a video of himself and his partner, Holly Sonders, dancing while he wore only a thong.
In the Instagram video, described by Spanish outlet Marca as a “sexual boogie,” Sonders appears in her underwear while De La Hoya sports a leopard-print thong. The couple dances to the Spanish-language song “Loca People” by Sak Noel. The clip quickly went viral but was removed by Instagram following multiple user reports.
De La Hoya expressed frustration over the removal, claiming that his “enemies” were behind the reports. “I just got banned. My last post was really funny, and the haters reported it. They hate to see me happy,” he said on social media.
Sonders, 37, also reacted, stating, “We both posted a funny video an hour ago. It got taken down on both our accounts due to lame reporting. Oscar’s post had 6,000 comments in 30 minutes. I guess some people really hate to see us having fun. The good news is, we’ll be back tomorrow with more.”
She criticized Instagram’s content policies, posting: “IG takes down all my content that isn’t covered head to toe… so here you go. I’ll play within their guidelines for a day. And if you’re one of the salty ones, rest assured we’ll be back with more thong vids this week because we are staying in Mexico. ALWAYS HAVE FUN, FRIENDS.”
Sonders concluded with another video, thanking viewers and inviting suggestions for future content.
