The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the One Year to Go Dinner at the Vancouver Convention Centre, marking the countdown to the 2025 Invictus Games, which will be held in Whistler and Vancouver.
This event concluded Meghan, 42, and Prince Harry’s visit to British Columbia and featured several memorable moments, including a special gift for their children.
Johnna Sparrow, an Indigenous advisor for the Games and sister of Chief Wayne Sparrow of the Musqueam Indian Band, presented woven blankets from the Salish people for Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
At the dinner, the Duke donned a black suit, while Meghan looked elegant in an olive green off-the-shoulder dress accessorized with a diamond tennis necklace from Logan Hollowell.
The couple enjoyed a performance by Michael Bublé, who sang a song written with Paul Anka to the tune of “My Way.” Before his performance, Bublé expressed his joy at showcasing the beauty of the region to Harry and Meghan.
During his speech, Prince Harry reflected on the significance of the Invictus Games, which will celebrate its tenth anniversary this year.
He highlighted the Games’ impact, stating, “The past decade has been a testament to the power of resilience and the unbreakable spirit you all exemplify. And boy, have we had fun along the way! From this trip, I am happy to report that the air is thick with excitement, and the best part is, we’re just getting started.”
He emphasized that the Invictus Games are “not just a competition; they’re a way of life, a celebration of the human spirit.”
Before the dinner, the Duke and Duchess visited the Winter Training Camp, where they previewed the new winter sports to be featured in the 2025 Games, including alpine skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, Nordic skiing, skeleton, and wheelchair curling.
Prince Harry participated in several activities, including sit-skiing and a high-speed skeleton run, and the couple later joined Michael Bublé for curling at the Hillcrest Community Centre in Vancouver.
