Tyrese Gibson revealed that following his emotional interview on The Breakfast Club, his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, has requested an increase in the monthly child support payments she receives.
In the interview, Tyrese discussed the personal impact of his divorce from Samantha. In a recent Instagram Live session, he mentioned that while he’s received considerable support from fans, Samantha has yet to take “accountability” for the “trauma” she has caused.
Tyrese disclosed that Samantha is now seeking $40,000 per month in child support, up from the original $20,000 she requested. He claimed that her demand increased after seeing his recent success in movies and shows.
He shared that he recently received another letter from Samantha’s lawyers asking for his tax returns and bank statements, suggesting they are aiming to raise the child support to $40,000. “They’ve been observing all my movies and concerts, and it seems like they’re eager to get more from me,” he said. “Samantha and her legal team are hoping to capitalize on my success, thinking, ‘He’s been doing well for the past year and a half.'”
Tyrese also noted that Samantha, who divorced him four years ago, earns approximately $150,000 annually from social media. However, her attorney claimed they have only received $5,000 for their services over the past four years, as they are anticipating a larger payout from him due to his celebrity status.
He expressed frustration over the situation, stating, “I’m out here stressed out. They’re hoping I do more concerts and movies so they can get more money. This feels like a dirty game, and they’re just waiting to get their hands on my money.”
Additionally, Tyrese accused the judge in his divorce case of making “illegal” decisions, which is why he is appealing the divorce outcome.
