Police are investigating the rape of a British tourist on a beach in Magaluf.
The suspect is an African street seller said to have taken advantage of his victim’s state of drunkenness when he found her lying alone in the street in the resort’s brash Punta Ballena party strip after she became separated from her friends.
HOW SHE WAS RAPED
He is said to have picked her up and carried her to the beach where he allegedly raped her before stealing her mobile phone, respected island paper Ultima Hora reported today.
The holidaymaker, whose age is not known and reportedly remembered little about what happened, alerted police hours later.
INVESTIGATIONS SO FAR
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Civil Guard who have been analysing CCTV cameras to try to identify the suspect.
The sex attack happened around 4am on July 24 but has only just been made public.
On Sunday it emerged a British tourist has been assisted by police after claiming she was raped and robbed on a beach in Majorca.

The 30-year-old told detectives she agreed to go to the beach near the island capital Palma with a man she met and ended up agreeing to have s-x with before a second man appeared on the scene and forced himself on her in the early hours of last Thursday morning.
They then fled with her belongings according to the holidaymaker.
Local reports said she had accepted an offer of ‘free drugs’ by the met she met as she strolled around Palma before heading to the beach with him.
She was taken to hospital for a routine medical exploration and was said to have been ‘visibly affected’ and in a ‘state of shock’ before flying back to London.
