Jamie Lynn Spears is ‘struggling’ to stop using Ozempic, according to insiders who claim the star turned to the popular weight loss drug after being left ‘mortified’ by her appearance on TV shows last year.
The 33-year-old actress and younger sister of pop superstar Britney Spears, 42, garnered buzz among fans this week after sharing a snap in which she was wearing a shirt emblazoned with the slogan ‘Ozempics 2024’ in a parody of the Olympic torch.
Now, sources have told DailyMail.com that the mother-of-two has been using the weight loss wonder drug as she prepares to ‘step on the gas’ with regards to her TV career.
‘Her friends and family have told her that she looks incredible and that she does not need to lose any more weight, but she’s not listening,’ an insider said.
Following nasty comments about her appearance during her short stints on Dancing With The Stars, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test and the UK version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Jamie Lynn reportedly turned to Hollywood’s new favorite weight blaster to boost her confidence and keep herself in the running for future TV roles.
Once it was confirmed that she would reprise her part as Noreen in the fourth season of Netflix drama Sweet Magnolias, she immediately set about trying to boost her confidence.
‘Jamie Lynn hopped on the Ozempic train, and is now struggling to get off,’ they said. ‘She was mortified over her appearance when she did a string of shows last year. She read the comments and took it very, very hard.
‘When Sweet Magnolia’s was renewed for season 4 she was so focused on getting a new body. Her friends were supportive because many of them use it too and by the time she started filming in January she looked great and was happy.’

However, the Zoey 101 star is failing to listen to friends’ concerns, with the source adding: ‘But then she kept going and is now having difficulty pulling the plug on it.
‘She is so scared of gaining it all back that she is willing to put her desire to have a ”summer body” before her wellbeing.’
The insider claimed Jamie Lynn has persevered with the weight loss treatment even after dealing with unpleasant side effects.
