On Monday, Princess Anne, 73, was photographed arriving at Edinburgh Castle’s Esplanade for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Her Royal Highness was greeted by Jason Barrett, Chief Executive Officer of the Tattoo, shortly before receiving the salute.
Anne attended the event to fulfill her role as ‘Salute Taker’ for the show. She wore a classic beige coat over a forest green suit jacket, paired with navy blue shoes featuring a subtle tartan pattern.
Her hair was styled in a soft French twist, allowing her elegant drop-pearl earrings to stand out. She also accessorized with a red and gold brooch and a red and navy-blue tartan scarf.
Following the salute, Anne took her seat in the royal box. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, described as “an experience like no other,” combines performances by the British Military with international acts to create a spectacular show. This year’s theme, Journeys, honored seafarers who courageously traverse the oceans to connect people and cultures across continents.
As Patron of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Princess Anne has supported the event since 2006. She previously attended rehearsals at Redford Barracks to meet cast members and those working behind the scenes.
This trip comes just days after Anne returned from Paris, where she spent two weeks watching the Olympic Games.
The royal arrived in France before the opening ceremony, met with members of Team GB, and attended various events, including rugby sevens, swimming, equestrian, hockey, and rowing, alongside her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence.
