On International Dog Day, the 64-year-old mother-of-two posted a sweet photo on Instagram of herself with the two furry companions she inherited from the late monarch after her passing in September 2022.

In her caption, Sarah wrote: “Wishing you and all your furry friends a Happy #InternationalDogDay. For all the unconditional love, loyalty, and joy they bring into our lives, Sandy and Muick will be getting an extra treat on their special day!”

Her post received a flood of affectionate comments. One royal fan expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you for taking care of the Queen’s dogs that meant so much to her,” while another remarked, “They look so happy with you!” A third comment read, “Awwww, glad to see they’re doing well.”

Sandy and Muick, who were once Queen Elizabeth II’s beloved pets, continue the royal tradition of corgis that spanned her 70-year reign. The Queen owned 30 corgis throughout her life, including Sandy and Muick, as well as Willow, Dookie, Honey, Berry, and Linnet.

Sarah has previously updated her fans about her new canine companions. In November 2023, she spoke about welcoming Sandy and Muick to her home, Royal Lodge, during an appearance on This Morning. She shared how she made the transition as comfortable as possible for her new pets, stating, “We started off by keeping them separate at night, providing them with their own beds and mats.”

Sarah also noted that a year later, the dogs were settling in well, though she observed that “Muick seems to need to see Graeme,” referring to dog trainer Graeme Hall.
