According to reports, the Russian national, who was vacationing in Surat Thani, attempted to mount the female cow, prompting a violent reaction from the animal. The cow reportedly pinned him to the ground and gored him, causing abrasions and wounds to his rear. Kuvshinov was subsequently taken to the hospital by police.

Witnesses indicated that Kuvshinov first approached a male cow before trying to mount the female. He appeared disoriented, speaking incoherently in Russian, and showed no signs of alcohol consumption.
