Rivers State: Explosion Has Rocked The Secretariat Of The APP

According to eyewitnesses, a dynamite explosion occurred around 1 a.m. on Monday, August 12, creating a loud blast.

The explosion caused significant damage to the opposition party’s property, including the destruction of tables, chairs, and files, as well as shattered windows and doors, cracked walls, and damaged floors.

This incident is believed to be related to the ongoing leadership crisis in the state.

There are also rumors that Governor Siminialayi Fubara plans to switch his support to the APP, following allegations that his predecessor, Chief Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, has taken control of the People’s Democratic Party in the state.

A party member who identified himself as Chimene confirmed the attack to journalists: “Yes, I’m a member of the APP. I learned about the attack around 3 a.m. today. This is clearly politically motivated.

“The APP is rapidly growing in the state, and we urge the police to investigate and apprehend those responsible.”
