Prince Harry Announced Travel Plans Following His 40th Birthday Celebration

Shortly after marking the milestone on September 15, he will head to New York City for the UN General Assembly High-Level Week and Climate Week, scheduled from September 22 to 29.

A spokesperson for the Duke said that he “will be in town to advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives. He will participate in engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst.

“In addition, he will be furthering the work of The Archewell Foundation, the nonprofit organization he co-founded with his wife Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex. More details will be shared as we approach the week of events.”

Harry’s exact arrival date in New York is still to be confirmed, but Prince William’s Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit is set to take place in the city on September 24. While William attended the summit in New York last year, Kensington Palace has yet to announce if he will be present for the 2024 event.

Harry’s trip comes shortly after he and Meghan’s four-day visit to Colombia earlier this month, where they focused on digital safety for youth, female empowerment, and mental health.

The Sussexes, who live in Montecito, California, last visited New York in October 2023 for the Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit, which addressed mental wellness in the digital age. They have since launched The Parents’ Network, a free support system for parents dealing with the impact of social media on their children.

In May 2023, Harry and Meghan were involved in what their spokesperson described as a “near catastrophic car chase” with paparazzi following Meghan’s honor at the Ms. Foundation 50th anniversary gala.
