Richard Lugner, renowned for his opulent lifestyle and for escorting celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton to high-profile events, has left behind a complex estate that may ignite a fierce legal battle among his heirs.
Lugner, who recently married his sixth wife, Simone Reilaender, just two months before his death, had designated her as the “sole boss” of his business empire. Nonetheless, his will includes provisions for his four children and Simone, potentially setting the stage for a significant inheritance dispute.
Family sources suggest that a major conflict could soon arise over who will inherit the rights to his villa and his extensive business interests. “There will be a major battle over the inheritance,” a source told German tabloid Bild. “Questions about who gets to live in the villa, who benefits from the foundations, and the valuable properties are expected.”
The source also indicated that Christina Lugner, Richard’s fourth wife, is determined to secure a substantial share of the inheritance for her daughter, Jacqueline. “Christina Lugner will fight fiercely to ensure Jacqueline gets as much as possible,” the source claimed.
Christina, who has expressed her grief publicly, stated that she and Jacqueline will strive to honor Richard’s legacy. “Our daughter Jacqueline will do everything possible to ensure Richard’s wishes are fulfilled,” she said.
Amidst the looming legal disputes, Christina also shared moments of mourning, describing how she and Jacqueline are coping by reflecting on happy memories. “We’re hugging and crying, then sharing funny stories from the past to find balance,” she noted.
Richard Lugner’s final months were marked by significant health issues. In June, he was hospitalized for severe back pain, which he attributed to a strenuous bike workout. However, a month later, on July 12, he was admitted to Vienna General Hospital with a ruptured heart valve, leading to a diagnosis of a leaking mitral valve.
Lugner had meticulously planned his funeral arrangements, including ordering his gravestone in advance. “I wanted everything to be in order so my heirs would know what to do,” he remarked.
His June wedding to actress Simone was a lavish event in Vienna. Despite their 49-year age difference, Simone proudly noted that their wedding night was exceptionally long. She now manages his Vienna shopping mall.
As Lugner’s estate is set to be divided, the ensuing family feud will be closely followed as his heirs prepare for a potential protracted legal struggle.
