The Duke of Sussex was spotted arriving in Colombia with his wife, Meghan, wearing a necklace that he previously claimed was broken by his brother William during a confrontation over Harry’s wedding plans with Meghan.
In his memoir, Spare, Harry alleged that the necklace was damaged in a “physical altercation” at Nottingham Cottage, where he said William “knocked me to the floor” amid a dispute over William’s criticism of Meghan’s behavior.
Harry had reportedly told William that he was simply echoing the press narrative and expected more from him.
During a 2023 interview on The Late Show, Harry showcased the “now repaired” necklace, which features three pendants: two with heartbeats of his children, Archie and Lilibet, and a third pendant with tiger’s eye, a gift from a friend in Botswana. “It’s got my kids’ heartbeats, which my wife gave me,” Harry explained.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have started their four-day working visit to Colombia, beginning with a breakfast meeting with Vice President Francia Márquez and her partner, Rafael Yerney Pinillo.
Meghan looked chic in a navy halter-neck two-piece by Veronica Beard, while Harry wore a navy suit with a blue open-collared shirt.
During their first day, the couple also visited the Colegio Cultura Popular, a local school, where they discussed the impact of the digital landscape on society with students. The Vice President will host a summit in collaboration with The Archewell Foundation and Luminate to address the need for a healthier and more ethical online environment.
Ms. Márquez initially invited the Sussexes to visit Colombia in 2023. The Sussexes’ team has not disclosed the details of the trip’s funding, whether it is covered privately, through Archewell Foundation, by the Colombian government, or other sources.
