Man is arrested after ‘trying to KIDNAP a two-year-old child from their pram in TK Maxx’

A man has been arrested after allegedly trying to snatch a toddler from their pram in a TK Maxx.

Police were called to the high street store in Bromley, southeast London on Wednesday following reports of an attempted kidnapping.

A suspect was arrested at the scene after ‘stating to the child’s mother that he will take the child’, the Metropolitan Police said.

The force said on X: ‘Suspect arrested in Bromley High Street.

‘On 28th August 2024, police were called to TK Maxx, Bromley where a suspect had picked up a 2 year old child out of a pram stating to the child’s mother that he will take the child.

The force confirmed that the child was recovered and that a suspect was arrested for Kidnapping.

He remains in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
