Man DIES in cemetery after suffering ‘medical episode’

A man has died after suffering a ‘medical episode’ at a graveyard in north east England Saturday.

Emergency services rushed to Tudhoe Cemetery near Spennymoor in County Durham following reports of concern for a male Saturday afternoon.

However, despite their best efforts, medics pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after 2pm.

INVESTIGATION IS ON

Police are not treating his death as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner, a Durham Constabulary spokesperson said.

An inquest will be held to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary spokesperson said: ‘Police were called shortly after 2.10pm following reports of a man suffering a medical episode at Tudhoe Cemetery, near Spennymoor. 

‘Paramedics also attended, but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

‘His death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.’

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson added: ‘We were called by Durham Police at 2.11pm to assist with a patient in the cemetery on York Hill Road in Spennymoor.

‘We dispatched two paramedic crews, a clinical team leader and specialist paramedic.’
