Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident. According to Hundeyin, the company’s safety officer reported the case to the Sagamu Road Police Division on August 3 at around 6:00 p.m.

The report indicated that earlier that day, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the contract worker, who was assigned to the AOD Section of the company, entered an iron melting pot that was off-limits during operations.

Despite efforts by his colleagues to prevent the incident, the man jumped into the pot and his body was completely melted.
