Meghan Markle created an awkward moment on stage when she asked a woman not to pose next to Prince Harry for a photo after his polo tournament victory.
The Duchess, 42, took charge of the stage after presenting Harry, 39, with a trophy at a high-profile charity polo match in Miami, Florida.
She directed the well-dressed woman in a white dress to move to the center of the group, away from Harry, so she could stand beside her husband with the royal fan next to her.
Just before this, Meghan had celebrated Harry’s win with a loving kiss while a Netflix camera crew recorded the moment for an upcoming series about the Duke.
The awkward exchange continued for several moments as Harry kept his arm around Meghan, causing others to rearrange themselves around the couple.
When Meghan insisted on her placement, the woman had to duck under the trophy to find her spot on stage and briefly spoke to Meghan.
Harry appeared flushed during the incident, though this was likely due to the intense heat of the day as he led his team to victory at the Royal Salute Polo Challenge.
At the $1,600-per-ticket event, Meghan was joined by her close friend Serena Williams and wore a striking $800 white dress from California designer Heidi Merrick.
The dress featured a statement bow and cut-out back, paired with a $3,300 Maison Valentino bag. Meghan, surrounded by her camera crew, confidently navigated the grassy terrain in towering heels.
Harry, dressed in his usual polo attire, arrived at the event hand-in-hand with Meghan, who wore a crisp summer outfit consisting of cream trousers, a pale grey jacket, and a pale blue shirt, complemented by tan slip-on shoes.
Harry faced off against his longtime friend Nacho Figueras at the tournament and seemed to enjoy the event as he mingled with guests and posed for the Netflix crew. Later, the couple posed with Nacho, known as the ‘David Beckham of polo,’ and his Argentine socialite wife, Delfina Blaquier.
