Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson were one of the celebrity world’s most consistent couple before it was revealed on Friday they had split for good.
The Coldplay singer, 47, and Fifty Shades Of Grey actress, 34, have called off their engagement after struggling to align their lives, it was revealed.
The pair, who have been together since 2017, are said to have ‘now accepted the relationship is over – and it’s best to move on’.
While the couple are notoriously private and are rarely photographed together, there were some subtle signs they had parted ways.

The actress was pictured as she walked her dog in Malibu where she used to live with the Coldplay frontman.
In the snaps, the star’s left hand was noticeably missing the stunning ring as she headed out into the sunshine.
Weeks before in late June, Dakota was also pictured with the ring missing from her left hand.
Taking to Instagram she shared a picture of her script for film DADDIO, in which her left hand was sat on top of the paper.
In the snap, Dakota was not wearing the emerald ring and a suspicious fan commented: ‘Is she still with the guy from Coldplay?’
Chris covering Adele’s break-up track
Coldplay have been performing in Germany this week as part of their tour, stopping off in Munich.
Their appearance came days after fellow Brit Adele played the city – and during her show she gave a shout out to Coldplay.
To repay the favour, Chris decided to cover one of Adele’s tracks as part of their gig – but his song of choice raised eyebrows.
The band opted for Adele’s stunning Someone Like You – an emotional break-up song about an ex who has moved on.
‘Never mind, I’ll find someone like you, wish nothing but the best for you, too,’ the song’s lyrics say.
The choice of song raised suspicions that something was afoot with his relationship, just hours before news of their split broke.

In a heartwarming moment, Chris gave the fan a lift to the festival, and Saundra shared a selfie with him on X.
But in her post, Saundra shocked fans as she declared the star was single.
