A photoshoot turned harrowing for a newly married couple when an unexpected train arrived on a railway track above a bridge in Pali, Rajasthan, India.
Acting quickly, the newlyweds jumped 90 feet from the bridge in a desperate attempt to evade the oncoming train.
Both sustained serious injuries in the incident.
Rahul Mewada, 22, and his wife Jhanvi, 20, residents of Bagri Nagar, had traveled to the Goram Ghat Heritage Bridge on a motorcycle for a photoshoot. The bridge, narrow due to its meter-gauge railway, was where they posed for pictures.
Rahul suffered a severe back injury and has been transferred to a hospital in Jodhpur for specialized treatment. Jhanvi, who sustained a broken leg, is hospitalized in Bangar.
As they were being filmed on the bridge, a train approached suddenly. In a panic, they leaped from the bridge just as the train reached it. Footage of the shocking incident has since surfaced.
Rahul’s sister and her husband, who were also present, managed to escape by running off the bridge upon seeing the approaching train.
