Shark attacks disrupted Fourth of July celebrations on Thursday at South Padre Island.

DETAILS OF THE INCIDENT

Two people were taken to the hospital with bites, at least one of them severe, authorities said.

Videos shared online show a woman being pulled out of the water, blood trailing her. A huge chunk of her calf had been bitten off by the shark.

Two more were injured after they encountered the shark.

Based on witness reports and images on social media, Game Warden Capt.

Chris Dowdy said authorities believe a single shark about 6 feet (about 1.8 meters) long was responsible for all four attacks.

People are being kept out of the waters at South Padre Island.
